I originally designed this blanket in the middle of the Christmas season of 2020. There was so much going on that I forgot to release it on time, so I decided to hold onto it until the 2021 season, so here it is! For Christmas this year, I wanted a way to remember a child's favorite thing about Christmas, THE PRESENTS! How lovely is this blanket design that looks like a wrapped present? I hope you enjoy it!
Here is the follow up to the last post's design. This is the accompanying design to the plaid blanket. This one features more white in the design, and has thinner stripes in addition to the big bold plaid stripes. I hope you enjoy this design!
In November I published my first scarf design EVER and it was a HUGE hit! People loved it so much that I got a lot of messages asking to make a blanket version of that scarf. So here is the first of the two plaid blanket patterns for you!
This is probably going to be my last Christmas design published in 2019. I can't believe 2020 is just around the corner! I have had such a great year growing this blog and designing crochet patterns... and I have BIG goals and NEW ideas for next year!
To wrap up this Christmas season, I've got this lovely design inspired by a pillow I saw in the store. The pillow was actually more realistic, which is hard to do in C2C, so I simplified the design and I just LOOOOOVE the calligraphy in the middle. The simplicity of JOY! I hope you enjoy this design!
My friends! Were you hit with tons of snow this last Thanksgiving week? I live in San Diego, so where we live we only had to endure a chilly 50 degree high on Thanksgiving Day. It was tough, but we survived! HAHA! I know cities in the mountains here got lots of snow. I can't really handle the cold, so I stay home wrapped up in my warm blanket and crochet!

Okay, so I am prepping for my first ever market, and I wanted to make some kind of festive home decor to go with my other accessories I'll have for sale. So I looked up on Pinterest to find some cute Christmas tree designs, and found a few free patterns for this Bobble Christmas Tree!
This is a free video I originally encountered. What a great tutorial to help you make the tree!
This video uses bobbles, and makes a separate bottom piece that you attach at the end.
Here you can find the link to a free pattern by the Simply Crochet Magazine in the UK. The pattern is written in UK terms, so if you are a US crocheter, like myself, then dc is a single crochet, and tr is a double crochet. This pattern also uses popcorn stitches instead of bobbles. Other than that, the pattern is very easy to follow... except that it is a hollow tree. So I did some modifications to extend the pattern to make a larger tree and close the bottom.

Gauge:
Gauge not essential, but my trees turned out 5" and 8" respectively.
Instructions:
Using TWO STRANDS of Caron Simply Soft Yarn and the size J Hook, use a magic loop to begin. Mini Tree:
Following the instructions from the Mini Christmas Tree Pattern, complete the tree. To close the tree:
Round 1: ch 2, *DC2TOG, 1 DC. Repeat from *around. Slst to top of first dc2tog.
Fill the tree with Fiberfill
Round 2: ch 2, DC2TOG around. Slst to top of first dc2tog. Pull out tail and weave the hole closed.
Large Tree:
Following the instruction from the Mini Christmas Tree Pattern, follow the pattern and continue for 3 more rounds:
Round 13 Work as given for Round 3. [14 popcorn sts, 14 dc]
Round 14 Ch1, (sc in each of next 6 sts, 2sc in next st) around, ss to the first sc.
Round 15 Work as given for Round 3.
[16 popcorn sts, 16 dc] To close the tree:
Round 1: ch 2, *DC2TOG, 1 DC. Repeat from *around. Slst to top of first dc2tog.
Fill the tree with Fiberfill
Round 2: ch 2, DC2TOG around. Slst to top of first dc2tog.
Round 3: ch 1, SC2TOG around. Pull out tail and weave the hole closed.
Christmas is such a wonderful time of the year. There is so much good food! Plus, you get to spend time with family that you don't get to see as often. It's always such a fun time with Christmas trees and presents... but what is the REAL reason for the season? Jesus Christ!
So in honor of this true meaning of Christmas, I have designed a nativity themed blanket, called Evening Nativity. It highlights the New Star, the manger, and the Child. I hope you enjoy this design!
This new design was a BIG contender for my Christmas CAL. I really wanted to do it but I thought it might be a little too difficult for a crochet-along. I wanted to use a simpler pattern that would be easy to do, yet super cute. I might do it along side my CAL anyway, because it's just ridiculously cute!

This design is my Santa Suit C2C Blanket. What a fun way to honor the tradition of Santa Claus. I loved Santa, and the idea of a jolly old man delivering presents to all the children around the world. He's so magical, it's hard not to love him!

Gauge not essential, C2C Crochet a triangle 8 blocks high. If your triangle measures 5.5” tall, your project will end up being 43”x 52”. If your triangle measures 6.5” tall, your project will end up being 52”x 63”.
