Crochet Experiment in Curves

I wanted to test out some patterns I had stored in my head, I'm sure they're pretty common patterns, and I did it in two colors so you could CLEARLY see what was going on:

Haha, now I'm looking at this and it looks like a black widow. I'll need to adjust my camera because the color is really maroon.
