HeartSprinkle C2C CAL - Week 4

I was able to finish this week's part of the CAL by Saturday! That took a great effort because my husband was doing some major work on our patio cover, and I needed to assist him (which resulted in very dirty hands), so I had to take a long break before finishing.

But I did it! And I was able to weave in almost all the ends from the first week's section!

Now I'm off to finish the last section!

HeartSprinkle C2C CAL - Week 3

I made it through the green section this week with a few errors that delayed my finishing this week until yesterday. I'm caught up now!

I made a few mistakes on the end of the yellow that transitioned into fixing in the green section. I didn't want to frog all that work to fix something that hardly anyone will notice, especially my girls, for whom this blanket is destined.

There were a few places where I made a mistake where the last block of a color change was supposed to go, but luckily, if I caught it immediately (before it had been crocheted over) I was able to snip the offending square out and put in the correct one.

I love the details on the hearts, and I am glad to be done with so many color changes!

It's turning out fantastic! My girls haven't seen the final product image, so they have no idea what's in store for them!

HeartSprinkle C2C CAL - Week 2

I'm slowly catching up! Because I had to finish the last bit of a project I was working on, I fell a little behind. But after that project was finished I started ZOOMING through this one, and I finished the second week of the CAL in just a few days!

Look at how lovely it is turning out!

Right now it just looks so fiery with the red, orange, and yellow. While I complete this week's section of the CAL I'll be adding green to the background, and I will be starting to decrease stitches. I'm nearly halfway done with this blanket!

Heart Sprinkle C2C Crochet Along - Week 1

I found this super cute C2C pattern that I thought my daughter would really enjoy! I have never done a C2C (or corner-to-corner) crochet project before. I was excited also to participate in a crochet along, or CAL for short.

This was a C2C CAL by HeartSprinkle! How adorable!

It was super fun anticipating the beginning of the project. I started looking up how to do the C2C stitch, watched a few videos and I was on my way! I had trouble sourcing the right colors. Many of you know how much I love Caron Simply Soft yarn, but it was very difficult to find the rainbow of colors in the right shades, and I had to settle for some less-than-ideal shades. I did NOT want to use Red Heart Yarn for such a beautiful project! I knew it would still turn out fantastic and that my girls would love how it looked.

Because I was already working on the Flower Puddles Blanket, I desperately wanted to finish that one first. I only had a few rounds left! But then when I thought I finished the blanket, I realized I added extra stitches to the second half of the last row, so I had to frog it and redo it. that made me lose some time on the CAL!

But, Alas! I have finally finished the first week of the CAL and they are starting the 3rd week. Now that I've finished my Flower Puddles Blanket, I'll be able to commit more fully to the CAL and hopefully catch up this week or next!
